Confessionalism is a system of government which by right distributes political power in a proportional way among different religious communities. The positions of government, as well as the seats of the legislative institutions, are distributed in a manner proportional to the demographic weight of each denomination in the total population.

الطائفية هي نظام حكم يوزّع الحقّ في السلطة السياسية بشكل نسبي على جميع الطوائف الدينية. المراكز في الحكومة و المقاعد في الهيئات التشريعية تتوزع نسبةً لدايمغرافية كلّ طائفة من المجموع العام للسكان

Le confessionnalisme est un système de gouvernement qui distribue de droit le pouvoir politique d'une façon proportionnelle entre différentes communautés religieuses. Les postes du gouvernement, ainsi que les sièges des institutions législatives, sont distribués d'une façon proportionnelle, par rapport au poids démographique de chaque confession dans la population totale.
